The (quiet) happy dance.

While Australia reels with devastating fires in the state of Victoria, lives and homes lost, thousands not knowing what will become of them, we have had a busy week of medical appointments.

It seems wrong, somehow, to be celebrating but I have to say we are all pretty happy in this house.

Ivy was approved for more IVIG, another six months, before we have to present to the board for review.

Good news could not have come at a better time for us, with the pulmonary hypertension and the chronic lung disease and also finding out that the girl cannot hear out of her left ear properly because of scarring.

Oh yes, a good news week is what we really needed

and I don’t feel like I can write about it on my blog.

How can I be doing the happy dance when almost 200 people have lost their lives?

So, I am going to quietly celebrate with all of you, over here, if that is  okay…

YAY!

Ivy got the IVIG!

YAY!

We have a new plan  that will hopefully slow down the bad side effects post infusion.

YAY!

The immunologist spoke with us for over an hour and helped us to understand what was going on with Ivy better than any doctor has before.

*Happy dance*

Bringing up seven kids has led to in depth knowledge of asthma, autism, fetal alcohol syndrome and drug induced developmental delay, immune deficiency and autoimmune disease, ectodermal dysplasia, neonatal death and cardiac defect. Despite all of that, I didn't know I was about to start the ride of my life with the illness of my youngest daughter, Ivy.

I have felt the same, I just don’t feel right posting about trivial things at the moment because of it.

But don’t worry, you are allowed to be happy!
