This, That and a Few Other Things

I don’t know about you, but the amount of recalls lately has me more than a little bit concerned.

Uh, peanut butter anyone? If you scroll all the way down on this site you will see a list of current peanut butter recalls.

The folks over at Parents.com must have been reading my mind. Their brand newToy and Product Recall Finder allows you to enter in the product name, brand or model number, along with the category and approx. time you purchased your item and shazam! The Toy and Product Recall Finder will let you know of any previous or current recalls on your stuff.

Those of you who are struggling with adaptation/modification issues for your child’s classroom will want to check out a list of Specially Designed Instructions for Educators: IEP Modifications/Adaptations/Support that has been compiled O.A.S.I.S.

And from my What’s New At 5MFSN files, We will soon be launching TWO exciting new features:

  • 1. A comprehensive Special Needs Blog Roll that will include not only blogs, but links to doctors, hospitals, etc. specializing in different issues.
  • 2. A Classifieds section where readers can list what they have that they no longer need that they would like to gift (for the cost of shipping) to another family.

Which reminds me. I have a bunch of Neocate 1 Plus that needs a new home. Any takers?

I need to send out a giant ‘thank you’ and some Parky smooches to those of you who took the time to email Rep. John Dougall. Seems like he got so many emails that he figured it might be a good idea to schedule a time to come and talk to us. In person. At our house. Tonight.

And saving the MOST EXCITING for last. (See, it pays to read my posts all the way through, huh?) I want to introduce you to an amazing new company My Wonderful Walls has asked to be on ongoing supporter of 5 Minutes For Special Needs.

Which is just another way of saying that you guys are going to be so excited in about a week. But while your waiting that week go on over to My Wonderful Walls.com and take a look around at their amazing wall art and nursery murals. Do some wishin’ and some dreamin’. Cause, really, you are going to want to be prepared.

Okay. I think that’s everything.

Class dismissed.

I’m glad everyone is as excited as I am for the upcoming additions.

We had a 4 hour talk with John Dougall. After a bit of a rough start, it ended well. I learned a lot and I think he did too.

There is now a blog from the CDC and FDA about the peanut product recall.
