Fill In The Blankie Giveaway!

I'm going to confess one of my deepest, darkest secrets. ……….

I'm a blankie snob.

Phew. It feels good to get that into the light.

Can you blame me though?

Think how important your child's blankie is:

  • Being one of his biggest sources of comfort, a blankie needs to be the right weight and have just the right 'slip' for tiny fingers to rub while falling asleep.
  • It needs to be the perfect size for fort building and super hero cape sessions. Not to mention the ever important Princess dress up dates and impromptu wedding veil needs.
  • And if it is also stylish and hip, well that makes a Momma's heart soar as well.

The perfect blankie can be hard for trached kids to find. Our RT was adamant that any kid with a trach not use blankets made from material that 'shed', such as minkee. That includes handmade quilts tied with yarn. The popular rag quilts too.

This is where, Fill In The Blankie comes in.

Ultra Personalized Baby Blankets. Up to 200 Characters! Way More Than Monogram Or A Name & Birth Date!

2_

(I would show you a picture of Parker and his Fill In The Blankie right here, but he's been sick this week and refuses to give that blankie up for anything. Not a great combo for a photo op.)

I simply can't say enough about the absolutely perfect blanket she created for Parker.

From marketing, to presentation, to the quality of work, quality is of the upmost importance.

And how perfect are the words she custom embroidered on Parker's blankie?

  • Parker Reed Hodson
  • Brave Hero
  • I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord,
  • plans to give you a future and a hope. – Jer. 29:11

You could create YOUR child's PERFECT Fill In The Blankie too. One that you could WIN.

Come back and tell me which blanket from the many choices offered by Fill In The Blankie would you choose for YOUR blankie. INCLUDING which message you would have embroderied around it's silky edges.

This giveaway is open from January 10 until January 22nd. We'll announce a winner on Saturday, January 23rd.

If you want extra chances to win, you may earn additional entries for the following:

1. Subscribe to our feed
2. Write a post and link back to this contest on your blog
3. Spread the word to your friends via facebook, twitter, etc.

Simply leave additional comments for each of the extra qualifying steps.

Please be sure to read our Terms and Conditions.

Take it from a giant blankie snob like me, you simply won't be disappointed.

You can also find Tammy and Parker (with his Fill In The Blankie clutched tightly in tow) hanging out at their other blog, Praying For Parker.

[...] the Giveaway front, we have another one going on over at 5 Minutes For Special Needs. Go.  Read.  [...]

It's funny Julia never attached to a blankie nor a stuffy… and not for lack of ownership.

I admit part of me is relieved that she never latched on to an attachment toy so I don't have that stress that it will get lost. So far Sophia also has not attached to a particular toy or blanket.

When Janice and I were little, Janice was soooo attached to her blankie… more so than I. When we played to together, it was always my blanket that got put on the ground to be our 'picnic' blanket for our tea parties.

We were both soooooooo attached to our teddy bears though. And I remember even when older than I'd like to admit, I would be so afraid that we'd have a fire and my teddy would be killed. Janice and I always planned emergency evacuation plans for our bears. I remember really feeling like I could NOT survive if something happened to my bear.

What really scares me now as a Mom, is I remember how Janice and I always secretly planned that we would go back into the fire to save our bear. Very scary. Thankfully, we never had a fire.

But… I guess Janice and I always have been rather neurotic. LOL

These blankets are absolutely adorable!!!

Awesome Mom @ 9:54 pm

I love the Hills Come Alive Blanket, it looks so soft and wonderful. I would make it for our coming attraction, so I can't say exactly what the message would be since he is not born yet and we don't even have a name picked out.

I am in love with the 400 count sheety blanket in English Tea garden. Since I don't know who I would give this to right off the bat, I'm not sure how I would personalize it, but probably with the verse from a song, or maybe a scripture. I'd have to get back to you on that one. But all the blankets are beautiful!

colleen_mouse @ 11:45 pm

I love the 400 ct sheety style blue morning glory. I would love to have it say my daughters name and We believe in miracles.

I am due in April and we have yet to pick out a name. I would probably add on the other sides something about his daddy. He is seriving in Afghanistan right now and will miss the childs birth so I know it would be a special blanket. Maybe I would let my husband think of some sweet words to add to the blanket. It's funny–I found this site while taking a break from making my SPD daughter a sensory quilt. So for Little Miss I would choose
Stefan's Chenille in Douglas Fir/Ivory Satin, with (in Blessed Child 3 font, red thread) my favorite Shel Silverstein poem around the edges:

Listen to the mustn'ts, child. Listen to the don'ts. Listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me… Anything can happen, child. Anything can be. ~Shel Silverstein

The Praying for Parker link on this post is missing a dot and thus does not work as a hyperlink. However, I was able to correct it and visit Parker's site. What a SWEET blessing that you have him and he has you! My heart is so moved as I read through it. (I have a son with autism, but it is a small thing in comparison).

I really like the sheety blanket, a lot. My youngest daughter actually uses the sheet that was on her bassinet as her blankie. As for a message…I would have to pray on it first.

Thank you for such a tremendous opportunity and for sharing about Parker!

Blessings to you and your family!

Ilissa H. @ 3:15 pm

I am not quite sure of the exact words I'd put on my blankie (I'd have to do some research). However, I would love to put the lyrics from a Disney song on it. Thanks for the chance!

Our little piece of heaven
We hoped and prayed for you
Precious gift

Mindy @ 5:59 pm

I would put the followinig lines from a song on it.

I am a child of God
And He Has sent me here
Has given me an eartly home
With Parents Kind and Dear.

Ok, I too will admit I am a blankie snob! (figured if you could do it, I can too :-)
This is our first time here and wanted to say first… What a cutie pie! Parker just has that "snuggle with me" look!
Since my daughter is TOTALLY OBSESSED with silkie things… I think we would choose the Fit For Royalty in Coral Rose with white trim. SoOoo beautiful and snuggly looking. I would use a purple stitching for the wording, in Sweet Dreams Three. I would have one of our favorite quotes placed around the edges "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living, My baby you'll be!" My kids quote that book A LOT!
Thanks for the contest!

Kobi Hendrix @ 10:32 pm

Molly's Very Own Herringbone in blue, I'd write Keegan Zerich Dale Hensley

Jill @ 10:41 pm

I would do The Hills Come Alive, preferably in breezy aqua blue, but not available, so white whisper with white satin would be the next choice.
I would memorialize those most important moments with, "Jack Thomas Demski was born on 5-1-08 at 2:26 p.m. He weighed 7 lbs. 3 oz. and was 21 inches long. Baptized 7-12-08 at Mount Carmel Lutheran Church. Jack Thomas, may the Lord bless you and keep you safe." I would also add a sew cute cross and use the denim blue thread. Thank you for a wonderful contest giveaway! I am subscribing to your feed!

DO NOT BUY! @ 12:25 pm

I just filed a dispute with my credit card company. Blanket was ordered as a gift on August 26 and it never arrived. I've been credited the amount by my credit card company. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY DO NOT DELIVER THEIR PRODUCT. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. I highly recommend amending your post so people don't get ripped off, especially since they link to you on their site! THEY DO NOT ANSWER EMAILS OR PHONE CALLS.
