For Ruby…

She was here such a short time. Not nearly enough time to say hello. Not even enough time to say goodbye. Not really.
Ninety minutes.
Ninety minutes for a mother to hold her child. For a father to write her memory on his heart.
Not enough time.
But while she was here, Ruby danced. For thirty-six weeks her little kicks and flutters made her mommy smile, made her daddy proud of her spunk, made her big brother and sister fall in love with her. For thirty-six weeks she danced her way into every heart who heard her story. Including mine.
Ninety minutes. So very short. But long enough to be loved.
Ruby's mommy says that, "I don’t believe any newborn every experienced as much love as our Ruby did when she entered the world … she was constantly held by someone who loved her so much it hurt, and she died in loving arms as well. …Ruby didn’t live long, but her life and yes, her death, have touched so many. She’s a gift that continues to give, and will continue to give, long after she’s gone."
So true.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could give something back to Ruby's family — right now when they need it most? I'm inviting each of you who read this to do something special for them.
Please take a few minutes to post a picture of a flower or bouquet to your blog along with a few words of encouragement for Ruby's family. Then come back here, and add your link to the Mr. Linky below and I will let Ruby's mommy, Kandy, know that we have some flowers waiting for her and her beautiful family here.
One of the best things about a place like 5MFSN is each of you and the community of support you create — I know Ruby's family would very much appreciate your prayers.

Thank you for posting this. I'm just weeping for them and, even though it's something so, so small, I'm glad I was able to reach out them somehow. Thanks for the opportunity.
