Same here, I can't even look out the window without unconciously diagnosing a squirrel with a brain tumor.

Truth is, symptoms ARE everywhere. Most people just don't see them.

I tend to do this...and mostly, it's signs and symptoms of child abuse that I notice. Either physically on a child or in his behavior or in his eyes or in the actions of the parents.

I say a lot of prayers. As a former foster parent and child advocate, I've seen way too much in my life. And I have once or twice reported instances where there was no doubt as to what was happening.

As Maddy said, prayers are never wasted.

Thanks for the beautiful post. I do a bit of this too, though I didn't realize it until you brought it up.

And thanks to your post, maybe someone will now recognize bruises that come too easily on a child suddenly napping more than usual and know what to do.
(((hugs)))

I've felt this from both sides. One of my husband's coworkers was cautioning him early on in my first pregnancy about talking too much or getting too excited because she had had a miscarriage. I was furious that she would even suggest such a thing. 4 weeks latter, I lost the baby and I knew why she wanted to warn me. Still, given my experience, I would never offer that type of advice to a pregnant woman unsolicited.

After Frog was diagnosed I began to see the really early signs of Autism in several children. But unless I know the parent and child really well or unless a parent asks me, I don't offer opinion or advice. Our story is not a secret however, and I do get parents referred to me once they suspect something is not right. These are the parents I talk to. Like you, though, I reserve the right to pray for children whose signs speak to me.

He could also be on a blood thinner. My eldest is one one and he often has a lot of bruises. His stroke makes him have balance issues and he trips a lot.

I have an autistic child and I feel the same way a lot. I see symptoms in many, many children. Probably most of those children are 100% typical, and in no way is it my place to say anything unsolicited to these parents. But it can be hard.
