Photographing Your Children

Written by Melody

If you have children, photography is probably one of your hobbies.

I want to help you learn to photograph your child so that you capture the images you want which will be cherished throughout your lifetime and beyond.

The second and fourth Saturdays of each month, I will give photography tips to help you chronicle your child's life. I will also write about considerations to keep in mind when photographing children with special needs.

You can create a photo story of your child's life, and you can do it well. Pinkie promise.

See you back here Saturday, October 11, and we'll get started.

While we're waiting, feel free to leave your thoughts and questions in comments.

Melody can be found writing here at 5MFSN every Tuesday in addition to hosting Special Exposure Wednesday. You will also find her at Slurping Life sharing photos and a few words from her special life.

What a great idea - sign me up!

I was just thinking, maybe I should take a photography class - like that's going to happen! So I won't give up on the idea - I'll just start here :0)

Thanks Melody!

Learning from the Master Photographer? I'm in! I'd love to be able to catch the kind of shots you do.

#3 - Jenny @ 2:32 pm

Sweeeeet! I'm really looking forward to this! Oh, so many questions. What kind of camera do you use? How do you get your pictures to be so clear and crisp (mine often seem blurry)? How do you get the lighting so perfect (my pics are often too dark)? And of course, my biggest challenge, how do get great photos when your subject doesn't want his or her picture made and won't sit or stand still?!?

Oh that would be wonderful! My husband is always surprised when he notices a good picture and realizes I took it rather than him. ;)

Awesome!!! I'm really looking forward to this. I'd love tips on photographing a child who moves very, very fast…I have tons of shots of the top, back and sides of her head and would love to get some good ones of her lovely face :-)
