Magic Marker Monday — Doctor Day Doodles

Welcome to Magic Marker Monday! If you haven't heard about Magic Marker Monday yet, click here and then hurry right back…

We spend a lot of time in doctor offices. A. Lot. Of. Time.
Sooooo… we make the best of it. We always come armed with pens, crayons, notebooks, coloring books and a broad assortment of other potential distractions.
Here is Jacqui's most recent Doctor Day Doodle…

Cute, no?
Jacqui is finally at the age where she really enjoys the uninterrupted doodle time, which is really nice. Now, if only her two-year-old brother would find the concept of coloring for 45 minutes straight as enthralling as pushing all of the power buttons on the doctor's exam table…

That's so cute - I love how she made the ears pink there.

She is quite a little artist! That's great that she can entertain herself drawing (instead of pushing all the buttons, lol). That brought back some memories… my kids used to love pushing buttons, playing with the instruments on the walls, pulling the paper off the exam table and crumpling it up. Trying to keep them out of the stuff they weren't supposed to touch and at the same time, happy enough to avoid a meltdown while we waited, was exhausting! They've gotten better in the last couple of years though.

What a nice picture!
Ricki used to pull (at age two) assorted pages out of the doctor's desk.
Two years ago, she crashed the doctor's /dietician's computer (on two different occaisions). The diatician said don't bring her again. So I didn't… but neither did I.
As of late she has actually (pu pu) been behaving herself!

I'm back after a little unexpected hiatus! I can totally relate to what you said about Kyle. Only I wish Gabi and Preston could both stay focused that long. I usually solve it with leaving Preston in the stroller with a constant changing of toys.

Very cute.
I bring a bag of tricks too, but Su hates the Dr.s office so much she usually can't calm down enough to play with anything. Maybe some grand day she'll forget the trauma long enough. Jacqui certainly looks relaxed. Good work, both of you!

What a great picture! My son's favorite thing in the doctor's office is spinning around on the doctor's stool.
