Welcome to Magic Marker Monday! If you haven’t heard about Magic Marker Monday yet, click here and then hurry right back…

It’s not often I give in to pleas for infomercial items, however when our local toy store was clearing out some Bendaroos, I did just that.
Turns out, they are pretty fun! Plus they uniquely fit into some of our ongoing therapy needs. I love it when I to find items that can double as therapy time and play time!
Above is a flower she created on our patio door.

This one is a deer she made on our same patio door. I took the photo at night and then darkened up the exposure in the background to black.
My eldest has some nerve damage that impacts strength, stamina and dexterity in her right arm. Bendaroos provide lots of opportunity for fine motor work with all of the twisting and sticking they entail. Plus…
They can stick to windows — which for us takes the therapy aspect to a new level.
I can stick up a line of bendaroos across the patio door and tell her she needs to make her picture above the bendaroo line. This makes her work her muscles in her arms and fingers while her hands are held above her head — an activity which ordinarily fatigues her right arm quite rapidly.

By the time she had finished up her little stick figure girl here, we had a solid 20 minutes of no-tears therapy time.
Maybe I should pay a little more attention to those infomercials, eh? Wonder what therapy uses I could come up with for a Snuggie…

That’s great! I’m glad you found something that would make therapy fun for her.
Creative idea! Wonderfully vibrant colours too. Although I have to worry a little about the state of your windows
