Absolutely! Not sure if I'll ever feel like I've done enough for any of my 3 children -- 2 with special needs and 1 with just a special need for my attention. Thanks for sharing how you address each individually. I need to conciously work more individualized attention into their/our lives.

I think all parents feel this way on any given day. Just keep in mind that you are doing the best you can do every single day and give them as much love as possible. Sooner than you think, they will want nothing to do with you!!

Boy, do I hear you on this. Parker's needs are so very intense and I am always wondering if I'm giving my other kids enough time.

I also notice that the older my kids get the more they need their Mom.

Reed and I do a lot of tag teaming, but I do hear my kids wishing that BOTH their parents could show up to stuff.

Deborah,

I wonder if these questions will ever be answered. I think about it every day. Sometimes I feel like I'm just waiting for a sibling to develop an eating disorder or get into some real trouble, trying to get attention. My special needs son is just about 20, my girls are 13 and 14. They haven't yet even developed the "I hate parents" attitude. They are helpful and understanding. I don't know if their brother has taught them compassion for everyone (even their Mom), if I just got lucky, or if the other shoe is about to drop.

We too eat dinner as a family every night. We try to laugh a lot and talk about strange things. They love it.

Now that my girls are older, we try to watch some girly movies together, and that is incredibly bonding. I make sure their brother goes to bed an hour before they do so that they have time to get attention. It's hard.

I wonder if any of your readers have grown up children and know the answer.
