Magic Marker Monday — Snow Children…

MMM

It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child.”

~Pablo Picasso

Welcome to Magic Marker Monday! If you haven’t heard about Magic Marker Monday yet, click here and then hurry right back…

Since we don’t have our own snow at the moment, we have been frolicking in the lovely art nouveau world of make-believe brought to life by Sibylle von Olfers in her beautiful book, The Story Of The Snow Children.

A favorite from among our recent Christmas acquisitions.

And even though her story is over 100 years old, it still inspires the imaginations of childhood…

To perhaps doodle oneself as a snow fairy queen, or dream of wandering in a magical world of white where beautiful snowflakes come to life.

Sound like fun?

Well, there are whole worlds of childrens’ snow stories to choose from — go check out your local library and discover a winter wonderland of your own!

After all, who couldn’t do with a little more sparkle and magic on a cloudy winter day?
