Plays Well With Others
Yesterday Parker had the opportunity to play with a couple of friends, who along with their parents, stopped by for a quick visit.
My heart soared as I watched Our Brave Hero butt hop over to join in the playing that was happening in our family room. Parker has decided that hanging out with friends is all kinds of cool.
As a matter of fact you would have thought that my kid had years of schmoozing under his belt by the way he was handing out air kisses to one and all. Kind of like my other two boys, Parker seems to have inherited the 'plays well with others' gene.
Well. There was the momentary breach of play date etiquette when, after failing to gain one friend's attention, Parker decided to take a stronger approach and huck his popping turtle at this unsuspecting visitor's head.
Yeah. We're working on that Christie. Promise. Sometimes Parker's non-verbal thing can be a real pain in the back of somebody else's head. Opps.
I was totally impressed though by how normal yesterday's spur of the moment play date was. Just three little boys playing. Doing what all little boys live to do. Playing with the same toys that every other little boy around would want to play with.

Which simply goes to show that typical comes in all different sizes, shapes, and chromosomal counts.

Yay Parker! Friends ARE fun! What great pictures to record the event beautifully. Was this his first "butt hop"? If so, Yay! again, Parker! I love watching J interacting with other kids. It's just a hoot to see how they act and what they come up with.
Thanks for sharing.

THAT is the way other children learn about acceptance of everyone and gain a frame-of-reference for rejecting the R-word.
You and Parker rock!

Well - you could have posted the picture of Brady pushing Parky away from Parky's very own, oh so cool musical toy, that Brady didn't want to share - with it's very own owner
I felt terrible he was more generous in sharing Parker's own toys LOL
Don't give the toy throwing a second thought seriously - cause I'm gonna let you in on a small secret - that throwing thing? You know the one you're working on - takes at LEAST twice as long to perfect into an acceptable behavior in cuties like Brady and Parker
We have years of experience with apologies over random toys making their way to unsuspecting sacrament meeting goers heads and benches
No worries, my friend, no worries!!!
We had such a GREAT time! Thanks for letting us come play!!! I can't express how much Parker's joy at playing with friends brightened my day - he is amazing!

You are so funny. "A breach in playdate etiquette" LOL! I love playdates and seeing how Peanut interacts with other kids (she still kind of plays by herself much of the time). Peanut's been having a few breaches herself lately. It's so hard when you can't talk!
