We are thankful

I have been dealing with a sick little girl since Thursday. I have a very clever post about trips to the emergency room, but my brain is fried from waking up every four hours to dose tylenol.

Instead,  in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I asked my kids what they are thankful for. Fluffy is seven and very articulate. She quickly stated "I am thankful for friends, pets and most of all my family." Bear is five and nonverbal. I think she would say Kai-lan, bunnies and chocolate pudding.

My list is a bit more complicated.

  • I am thankful for my hard working husband. He goes on long trips to earn extra money to pay our medical bills. He keeps the house in working order and is a wonderful father.
  • I'm thankful for my kids. They are sweet and crazy. They keep my life spinning on all cylinders.
  • I am thankful that my family has access to quality health insurance.
  • I am thankful for my children's teachers, therapists and other wonderful people in their support system.

Happy Thanksgiving!

It's good to reflect on why we're thankful even when our brains are fried, maybe especially when our brains are fried. Thanks for a great post.
