5 years later

Bear will be five this weekend. Five years that have aged me at least fifteen.
We knew it would be a struggle from the day she was born. When we took her home to a “don’t expect much” prognosis. Five surgeries, handfuls of MRIs, CTs, genetic tests and innumerable hours of therapy later, she is thriving.

5 minutes for special needsShe’s busy exerting her will on the world and climbing on the furniture. Drinking milk from the carton and throwing temper tantrums.

We’ve dropped from six specialists to one. It’s been over a year since her last surgery. She’s on consult with PT. What a year!

I would make this post longer but, she is carrying my stool out the back door.
