I cannot believe the ignorance and arogance in people who truly believe that. So terribly hurtful. Although Nick isn't Autistic he has struggled with some of the issues many A's do and I would get so much "oh, he'll grow out of it." and "oh, just give him time he'll start talking." And when I'd insist that he has problems and we're doing the right thing by taking care of it they'd (family) give me the look. My oldest son has Autism and Sensory issues and hearing loss. My younger son has Sensory issues. I am going to look into the bike program, though we live in FL. I've got to find out if they have any near us. My 6 yr old with autism just can't get it. He has very poor muscle tone and just isn't understanding or able to pedal well. But ya know, it's really good to hear that it's my husband's fault. All this time I've just been indulging meltdowns and inabilities because I seriously enjoy them or I'm just too lazy to do anything about it. But now life is going to change. I just need to get my husband to smack him around a bit, right? *sigh* the saddest part about the Savage issues are that there really are people out there that think this way.
