Magic Marker Monday — 'Lightning The Queen'

"It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child."
~Pablo Picasso
Welcome to Magic Marker Monday! If you haven't heard about Magic Marker Monday yet, click here and then hurry right back…

Ready for the back-story on this one? Well, Jacqui has recently learned that Kyle is done with mindlessly sitting through her typical assortment of Disney princess movies and Barbie fairy tales. He has his own tastes (thank you very much) and right now Disney Pixar's Cars tops the list.
Jacqui originally told me she thought this movie was boring and then suddenly changed her mind. Why? Because she has become convinced that the movie is somehow about 'The Queen Of The Lightning' (and NOT Lightning McQueen). She tells me the movie is very 'cum-fuzing' and that the Lightning Queen must be 'im-bizzible 'cause you never see her enny-ware'.
This painting is Jacqui's idea of what this mysterious 'Lightning the Queen' must look like — dark thunderclouds, black lightning bolts and all. See Disney? This is what happens when you don't put a princess in the story…

That Jacqui really cracks me up! And what great artwork she does!
BTW, I am missing you during your absence on your blog! Hurry Back!

Oh how I completely adore Jacqui. She can work the feminine mystique in anywhere. (The girl is going places, I tell you.)
I don't have a contribution to MMM this week (my upcoming Tues post might explain that), but I had to tell Jacqui that I LOVE the way she thinks and creates art.

How funny! I love her interpretation. She is very talented. I need to watch Cars again and watch for that Queen of Lightening!

I love this! My son was playing with some other children at the mall playground and when they told the little girl it was her turn to be the monster and chase them, she just turned and said, "I'm not a monster, I'm a princess!"

Lol! Very creative addition to a very boyish movie.

Yup, far too many princesses around anyway. Love it.
I've done mine too, but it's a bit of a swizz. Do you have swizz out here? I mean cheat.
Best wishes

That's hysterical! "Lightning the Queen" I love it! I'm pretty sure both of my little girls are thinking along those same lines. Great job!

I love when kids come up with their own play of words and create something entirely new and different! Lightning the Queen sounds like a new bestseller to me! I heard about this MMM from Melody's blog. I don't have a special needs child but I'd love to support awareness and support this site. I hope it's okay if I join in. Let me know if not….

ROTFL Jacqui just cracks me up. How do you ever manage a serious face with her?
Life kept me from participating this week, but I am so glad I didn't miss this piece of art.:)
