Step2 Is Making Parker's Summer Shine Brighter: A Review And Giveaway
Comments are now closed.
Note: This is a compensated (Parker received his Sand and Water Transportation Station for free) review and giveaway from Step2.
It was a warm summer's morning. Parker had been signing "outside" since he woke up, hours before.
Finally, after the medications, the morning therapies, bath time, trach change and breakfast, it was time to go outside.
When you are a medically fragile kid with special needs your whole world becomes the area within your backyard fence.
And it is your Mom's job to try and provide as many typical experiences as possible.
Despite all the cords, tubing and bags and bottles that trail after you each step of the way.
Because typical is often found in the eye of the beholder.
On this most magical of mornings, Parker stepped out into his world to discover the Sand and Water Transportation Station sent to him by Step2 toys.
We set Parker's table up with rice and water. Because sand and trachs make this Mama even more nervous than usual. But the beauty is that you can use anything in this toy made by Step2.
Birdseed
Different colors of water.
Jello
Clear water with different colors of ice cubes.
Popcorn
Dried beans and lentils.
Only your imagination limits you and your child's experience with this toy.
And may I just say, Parker luuuurved this toy. Thank you, Step2
He delighted in it.
He engaged with this toy. Which made his Mama's heart sing.
And now the good folks over at Step2 would like to offer YOU a chance to win a Sand and Water Transportation Station.
Entering is easy. Simply visit Step2 toys and then come back and let me know what other toys interest you. Don't just cheat off of the comments of others…..ahem…..go to the site and look around for yourself.
Easy no? And weren't there some great toys to discover?

We absolutely love the looks of the Canopy Wagon. What a great concept, with the cup holders on top for parents!! Their outdoor climbers like the Skyward Summit look fantastic too, and they blend in!! YAY for that.
In our house our favorite Step2 toys we already have are the Kangaroo Climber and the Deluxe Canyon Road table. We have used them both for over three years now and for three kids. and they still look brand new.
PsychMamma @ 9:23 am
The two things on our "wishlist" are a sand & water table like the one you reviewed (which looks fabulous!) and a small picnic table. I love the Naturally Playful Picnic Table with Umbrella. Thanks so much for the chance to enter. We're just learning that J has sensory processing issues, so this table would be fabulous as a "sensory station". I love that we can fill it with different things!! Awesome.

I really like the soft dinosaur puzzles and the outdoor storage benches (yeah for reclaiming part of the garage!!). And I do really like the step 2 toys, but I find the bigger ones (kitchen, etc…) too difficult for a child in a walker to navigate. She has to put all of her weight on things when she lets go of the walker and sometimes they tip over and sometimes her walker doesn't fit into the "room-type" toys.
I'm headed over to re-tweet the giveaway.
Chrissa Ortega @ 10:06 am
The Art Master Activity Desk is really neat! I think it would be a big help in coralling the art supplies that are taking over our house as I try to entice Miguel into working on his fine motor skills. I love Step2's products, we have quite an assortment in our backyard

We love step 2 toys at our house. We have their table and chairs and used to have the kangaroo climber before Hannah outgrew it. On our wishlist now are the two person easel (art standing up is great for heavy work for SPD), the sweetheart playhouse, the little helpers grocery cart (more heavy work), and the summertime play center sandbox (digging in sand is great heavy work and also works on sensory sensitivities too!).

I really like the looks of the Whopper Bouncer but wince at the price not knowing how long it would hold up. Stacey M @ 9:46 am
I love most things by Step2 but I especially love their wagons (canopy wagon!!!) and the outdoor climber sets they have.
Stacey @ 10:42 am
We have a Step2 wagon, play door and slide. After looking around their site we would looove this Fun Flow Play Sink: http://www.step2.com/product.cfm?product_id=1498 I have twin 2 year old boys who are awesome helpers. I know my little guys would looooove helping Mama wash all their play dishes and outdoor toys in this sink.

The skyward summit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "WE WILL OVER COME HYPOTONIA"
And the clubhouse, gotta love houses with one little girl and the swingset stuff for three older brothers that are stuck never going to playground because of their sisters issues!! What great big brothers.
With all four kids having special needs we just don't go to public parks it is too hard with oxgen feeding pumps, formula and low muscle tone kids just can't keep up.

I love the sand boxes shaped like animals. Someday I hope to be able to give my son either the ladybug or the lobster. I remember growing up with a turtle-shaped sand box and I have so many memories from playing in it. My son is 4 and autistic, so I hope to one day be able to provide more for him to aid in his development. I think Step2 has some of the best products on the market; I just cannot afford them as a newly single mother of two. I think what you are doing is a wonderful opportunity for whomever should win.
Debbie Weems @ 2:54 am
I am a special education preschool teacher. All of the children that I teach, experience developmental delays. Of course, in today's economy, our school budgets are always stretched to the limit. The terrible secret of most teachers (especially teachers of young children), is when our schools tell us, "there is no money for that in the budget", we use personal funds for buying special things, like ride-on toys. Step 2 has some great new ride-on toys I would love for my school kids to get to play on. The Motorcycle and the Zoo Cruiser really would benefit my children to work their
muscles involved with gross-motor delays.
Sincerely,
Debbie Weems
