I just watched a you tube video called, "Reality Show You Won't See on TV About Autism," and "autism spectrum seems out of control" OMG....why doesn't the media ever talk about this kind of authentic autism? This is another Rain Man movie in making, but the opposite side of spectrum. The video links you to other videos on same channel. Amazing how many children are diagnosed with autism but really aren't autistic these days. I think this mum is onto something from what her videos show

This would almost be funny if it weren't so dangerous and terrifying. Is this what I have to look forward to in 15 years?

It is amazing the honesty we get from kids with autism. Just this morning, I sternly and pissedoffedly asked Alex if he had pulled a clump of hair out of his sister. At first he said, I don't know (which means yes but I'm afraid to say I did), but then he owned up to it.

I was mad, but pretty impressed with his honesty.

True Confessions Autism Style indeed.

What a great story! I read it with a bit of a cringe but a half smile too - I love it when he says "I'm done talking now."

I just finished your book - it kept me up super late two nights in a row, I could hardly put it down! I'm sharing it now with a friend who works with autistic children thru a local agency. She's such a great gal and so interested in learning more - I thought it'd be helpful for her to read from a mom's perspective.

I love the way you write. Just love it. And I've referred your book to many friends and acquaintances who have recently received diagnoses of AS or Autism for their children.

Wow, this is helpful. My son is only 10...and not as high functioning...but i can totally relate to the teeth grinding moments of summer, and thank God for the special needs camp that takes my son for 7 hours a day, this gives him a routine and makes my day much smoother. I do understand the phone call as well, even though Nick's camp is a day camp and for special needs kids...last summer I had to pick him up early everyday because his behaviors were so bad. Thank you for sharing your stories, I'm going to buy your book!
